CT Telso History

CT TELSO is the statewide social and recreational organization for AT&T/SBC/SNET employees, retirees, Cingular Wireless employees and friends & family.

Telso began in March 1920 and was first called the Employees Club. In the early 1930's it became known as the New Haven Telephone Society. In time several Telephone Societies were established around the State of Connecticut and this was the beginning of the local Telso's.

In 1983 the Connecticut Telephone Employees Society (CT Telso) was created to serve as an umbrella organization for the local Telso's.

Telso was at one time a National Organization throughout the old Ma Bell days. Today, Connecticut Telso and its eight local chapters are the only known survivors in the Telephone industry still serving its members here in Connecticut.

Currently, Connecticut Telso is an active member of (ESM) Employee Services Management. ESM is a national organization servicing many other employee groups at large and small corporations similar to that of Connecticut Telso.
